Fabergé name is synonymous with luxury, but few are aware of the wonderful history behind the exceptional masterpieces wrought by the brand. Carl Fabergé was a jeweller who gained recognition in the 18th century, when he was appointed Court Jeweller to Tsar Alexander III and the royal family. His most famous creations, an exquisite replica of the coach used during the coronation of Nicholas II and Alexandra Fyodorovna, made Fabergé an icon in the jewellery industry and secured him a place in Hollywood history when the objet d’art was highlighted in the hit movie Ocean’s Eleven. Some of Faberge’s fine works – from fine jewellery to luxury timepieces, will be presented at Singapore Jewel Fest 2009 by DeGem.”
